Job Description:

Postdoctoral position available at the Department of Neurology, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

One postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Dr. Kejie Yin's lab at the Department of Neurology University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. We are looking for motivated individual to work on NIH/NINDS-funded projects on exploring molecular mechanisms of ischemic stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI) and vascular dementia.

Research Projects: The laboratory uses state-of-the-art cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, morphology, imaging, behavior, and transgenic animal approaches to study the molecular mechanisms and therapeutic strategies for cerebrovascular and neural dysfunction after ischemic stroke, TBI and vascular dementia. The candidate will participate in projects to determine the functional roles of microRNAs, long non-coding RNAs, and several important transcription factors in the neurovascular injury and repair following ischemic stroke, TBI and vascular dementia.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent in Basic or Clinical Neuroscience. Experience in experimental stroke/TBI/vascular dementia mouse models, histological, and neurobehavioral technique is preferred. Strong interest in ischemic stroke/TBI/vascular dementia research, English proficiency, and strong oral and written communication skills are expected. The ideal candidate must have a solid publication record and evidence of excellent research skills in Neuroscience.
